New-Albany Floyd County Consolidated School Corporation

New Albany High School needed to expand its common corridor space to serve its Fine Arts facility. VPS created a solution that not only solved the circulation and spatial constraints of the corridor, but also created a Media Center that became an active learning hub off of the commons. The new commons serves the need for a break out space from the Fine Arts area and includes a satellite serving area that has become a valuable extension of the dining facilities serving the students. VPS seamlessly and artistically married the Media Center addition to the front entrance so that there is no visual delineation of new vs. old. The project was completed with minimal disruption to student activity throughout the school year.
