The Bus Maintenance Facility project consolidated North Gibson School Corporation’s bus maintenance program from two makeshift industrial technology areas at the old high school to a new facility, freeing the existing space for other student-driven programs. The project combined bus storage to a single location and provided the necessary utilities to support bus storage in a secure environment. The facility features central parts storage and a wash bay (featuring elevated step platforms for easier washing) along with twin bus service bays and a smaller maintenance bay for corporation vehicles. The design of the site allows for easy pick up of vehicles checked out for various activities (sports bus, corporation cars, etc.) during off-hours without compromising the security of the facility or any vehicles. Additionally, the building and secure lot were designed to allow for future expansion.
