In 2019, VPS completed a study on how best to prepare for Seymour Community Schools’ continued growth. In addition to the High School and Ag-Science Facility expansions, the study necessitated additions and renovations to the Fifth & Sixth Grade Center in order to provide relief space in each of the Elementary and Junior High Schools.

The infill of courtyards keeps the footprint compact and provides shelter space in the event of a storm. Much needed music instruction space has been added, as well as a new gym, kitchen and cafeteria to remedy the existing combined gym/cafeteria layout. The existing gym/cafeteria space are renovated into a new administration suite with a secured entrance as well as a new media center. Bus, car and pedestrian traffic have also been separated and improved to avoid conflicts. This project has provided double the previous building capacity.
