In partnership with Eastern Hancock Schools, we completed a comprehensive renovation of the Eastern Hancock Elementary Media Center and adjacent areas in 2025. This 7,200-square-foot project transformed the existing space into a dynamic and flexible learning environment tailored to the evolving needs of students and staff. Located in the heart of the Elementary, the updated space energizes the whole identity of the building, exciting staff and students alike.

The redesigned media center “right-sized” the book stacks, opening up the floor plan to create versatile learning zones that support collaboration, independent study, and group instruction. Six new offices, a conference room, a workroom, a Title I room, and a flexible classroom were added to support a range of instructional and administrative functions.

Operable walls were strategically integrated to maximize flexibility and adaptability of the spaces, enabling educators to tailor environments to various teaching and learning styles. A glass operable wall between the media center and adjacent learning spaces provides visual connectivity and natural light while maintaining acoustic control.

Custom millwork throughout the renovation adds a striking visual element and includes integrated seating to encourage student engagement and exploration. The result is a vibrant, future-ready learning hub that supports both academic success and community connection.
