The North Gibson School Corporation after much study proposed to build a new high school for 800 students in grades 9-12.The new facility was constructed on property adjacent to the existing high school which later became the middle school and also accommodates grades 3-5.

The location of the new high school on North Main Street will improved traffic safety and circulation on the campus allowing access from two major thoroughfares, where only one access previously exists.

A two-story building contains general classrooms for grades 9-12 and specialty classrooms including science, computer, art, music, family and consumer science and industrial technology.Physical education areas and an auditorium are incorporated in the building, as well as a TV/Radio Studio.

The steel frame, block and brick structure is designed to identify a 9th grade academy and integrates the opportunity for college credit courses to be taught and integrated in the classroom areas.
