In Association with S/L/A/M Collaborative

The Stone Family Center for Health Sciences is a collaboration of IU School of Medicine, University of Evansville, and University of Southern Indiana.  All Universities have moved their graduate level health sciences classes to this building to maximize cross-fertilization of the area’s advanced medical student community.  The facility was designed and executed by the S/L/A/M Collaborative, VPS Architecture, PCI Skanska, Bernardin Lochmueller, and Rundell Ernstberger.  The building is a sustainable facility which should earn LEED gold certification.  The collaboration is a four story building with a large simulation facility, gross anatomy labs, wet and dry laboratories, seminar space, classrooms, common/public areas, office space, and building support.  During the design process, the designers paid attention to the need for a diverse and flexible learning environment that supports continual advancements in educational technology and the curriculum revolution that is becoming the hallmark of modern health science education.
